The Emergence Summit: Innovation and Technology returns for a fourth edition!

An appointment for those who create, launch and grow ideas at the crossroads of creativity, innovation and emerging technologies.

INNOVATION BEGINS WITH EXPERIENCE

What if, rather than starting from technology and its possibilities, we start by asking ourselves what experience we want to create?

This year, the Emergence Summit puts human experience at the heart of innovation. Through perspectives from creation, culture, entertainment, artificial intelligence, sports, hospitality and research, we will explore how technology can serve our intentions, needs and ambitions — rather than defining them.

How to create experiences that touch us, bring us together and transform the way we interact with the world? How can we take advantage of new technological possibilities while preserving what must remain deeply human?

Seven major themes will guide the conversations of this fourth edition.

THE 7 THEMES

ECLO – FROM EXPERIMENTATION TO REALITY

How to move an idea, a creation or an innovation from the laboratory to concrete applications?

Meeting creativity, research, technology and entrepreneurship, this theme focuses on the conditions that allow innovations in digital creativity to emerge, to be experimented with, and then to find their uses, their audiences and their markets.

A reflection on the collaborations necessary to move the new ideas from the prototype to the real.

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES – FROM SPECTATOR TO ACTOR

Immersion is not just about technology or a spectacular effect. It makes sense when it succeeds in making us enter a universe, causing an emotion and sometimes even giving us a role in the experience.

How can storytelling, space, sound, interaction, performance and technology combine to create truly memorable experiences?

And above all: when do we stop seeing technology to really start living the experience?

INCREASED CREATIVITY – THE ARTIST AND THE ALGORITHM

Artificial intelligence is already transforming the ways of imagining, creating and producing.

Beyond the question of whether or not AI will replace artists, we are interested in the relationship that is being built between the human intention and the technological tool.

How to create with AI while preserving a signature, identity and intention? What place do we want to give the algorithm in the creative process? And when our tools themselves begin to propose, generate and influence, where is human creativity?

ATTENTION ECONOMY – COMMUNITIES AND FANDOMS

In a world where brands, events, teams, platforms and creators constantly compete for our attention, being seen is no longer enough.

The real issue may be elsewhere: how to transform attention into a relationship, then into a sense of belonging?

From sports to festivals, through content creators and digital communities, we will explore what transforms an audience into a community: trust, identity, values, rituals and shared experiences.

Can we make a fandom? And above all, what makes us choose to come back?

HOSPITALITY – WHEN TECHNOLOGY FADES BEHIND EXPERIENCE

As our environments become smarter and more personalized, technology may no longer need to be visible to make an impact.

This theme explores a new vision of hospitality where attention, anticipation, service and emotion take precedence over technological demonstration.

How to use artificial intelligence and ambient technologies to better understand needs without imposing yourself in the experiment? And as we can automate and customize more, what should technology never replace in the human relationship?

TECHNOLOGIES AND SOCIAL IMPACT – INNOVATING FOR THE COMMON GOOD

Technological capabilities are progressing rapidly. But does our human and organizational capacity to integrate them evolve at the same pace?

This theme questions how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are transforming work, skills, organizations and society.

From generative AI to agentic AI, how to prepare individuals and organizations to work with increasingly autonomous systems? How to reconcile productivity, responsibility and social impact? What decisions do we want to delegate and which should remain human?

Because we can innovate, how far do we want to go?

CREATIVE CITIES – THE CITY AS AN ECOSYSTEM OF EXPERIENCES

A city is not only a place where experiments occur: it can itself become a field of creation, experimentation and encounter.

How do artists, entrepreneurs, festivals, cultural institutions, researchers, technology and citizens together contribute to shaping the identity and experience of a city?

Through this theme, we will reflect on how creative ecosystems can transform the way we live, gather and live together and the role that Montreal can play as a territory where tomorrow’s experiences are invented.

A DAY TO CROSS THE PROSPECTS

Through conferences, panels, case studies, demonstrations and meshing opportunities, the Emergence Summit will bring together creators, entrepreneurs, researchers, leaders and actors from the cultural and technological industries around the same ambition: to imagine innovation from the experience we want to create.

A day to confront ideas, provoke meetings and bring about new collaborations.

Because behind every innovation, there is first of all a human intention.
